Seventh Generation Named 2017 Business of the Year by BBA

Burlington, VT- The Burlington Business Association (BBA) is excited to announce Seventh Generation as the winner of the 2017 BBA Business of the Year award. This award is made in recognition of exemplary business practices, contributions to the community, promotion of a positive image for Burlington, and business success.

Founded in 1988 Seventh Generation, a certified B Corp, has cemented themselves as a key member of Burlington’s business community, and now employs approximately 150 people nationwide. Employing around 100 people at their office on the Burlington waterfront, Seventh Generation has grown since their founding to report operating revenues of over $200 million.

Last fall, Seventh Generation was acquired by Unilever, a deal which not only speaks to the success of the company but also affords it the opportunity to grow the visibility of environmentally friendly home products worldwide.

“We are deeply honored to receive this recognition. Seventh Generation, embarked on its mission to inspire a consumer revolution that nurtures the health of the next seven generations right here in Burlington, VT.  We’ve experienced great, consistent growth over the last 25 years and are now embarking on an exciting new phase to expand our impact to reach billions of people around the world,” said Chief Operating Officer Joey Bergstein.

“Seventh Generation is exactly the type of business that this community should celebrate,” said BBA Executive Director Kelly Devine. “A Burlington born company whose work adds to our local economy and creates jobs, all while creating innovative products that fit Burlington’s environmentally conscious principles.”
