The creation of the Downtown Parking and Transportation Council was approved by a unanimous vote of the City Council on January 23rd meeting. It was one of several initiatives approved in a package of important next steps outlined the Downtown Parking & Transportation Plan.
In 2017 The Burlington Business Association will take on a key role in management of parking in downtown Burlington. The goal of this project will be to create an efficiently run parking system that will provide a quality experience to residents and visitors, while enhancing the vibrancy of downtown Burlington.
“We are excited for this opportunity to improve downtown Burlington’s parking system by working with a range of community members. This is a crucial step as we try create the best possible experience for residents and visitors to Burlington.” said BBA Executive Director Kelly Devine.
The Downtown Parking & Transportation Council will take an advisory role on issues related to rates, enforcement, services and pilot programs. The group will hold quarterly public meetings with a membership designed to include a wide variety of groups and ideas.
