South Burlington native Chelsea Condos is a seasoned tax accountant who returned to Vermont recently to work at Gallagher Flynn after spending 13 years working for KPMG in Atlanta and Boston. Condos has broad experience working with companies in the real estate industry including inbound international real estate investment funds, multinational construction companies, and real estate developers.She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in business administration/accounting with a specialty in tax accounting. In addition to her role on the Board of the BBA she is a member of the AICPA and the Vermont Society of CPAs. She lives in the Mayfair neighborhood of South Burlington with her husband and two children.

Shireen Hart

Shireen T. Hart, an attorney with Primmer Piper Eggleston & Cramer PC, serves as counsel to hospitals, long-term care facilities, community mental health agencies, pharmacies and other individual and organizational health care interests. Shireen came to Vermont in 1987 to attend Middlebury College where she met her husband, Chip Hart Jr., a native of Burlington’s New North End. Together, Shireen and Chip are raising their two sons (and Australian Shepherd, Ozzy) in the same neighborhood where Chip was raised and where their sons attend Burlington High School and Lyman C. Hunt Middle School. Shireen has been on the Board of the KidSafe Collaborative of Chittenden County since 2006 and currently serves as its President. In her spare time, Shireen enjoys attending and supporting her boys’ various activities and playing ice hockey in the cold months and tennis in the warm months at Burlington Tennis Club.

A 30-year veteran of human resources positions in Vermont, Donna Austin-Hawley currently serves as Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer at Northfield Savings Bank, a position she has held for three years. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont, a graduate of Leadership Champlain and currently serves on the United Way of Northwest Vermont Board as well as the Vermont PBS Board.

Joe Carton

Joe is a veteran of the Burlington and Vermont hospitality industry. He has worked in downtown
Burlington for over 33 years initially, as the General Manager of the former Radisson/Wyndham Hotel
(presently The Hilton Burlington), and then GM of the Courtyard Burlington Harbor and presently COO of
Westport Hospitality operating Hotel Vermont and the Courtyard Burlington Harbor. Joe has been active
in the Lake Champlain Chamber, Hello Burlington, Ronald McDonald House Charities and several other
local charities and organizations through the years. Joe lives in Williston with his wife, Bonnie and has
three adult children who all reside in the Burlington area.

Mr. Casella brings broad experience in both the private and public sectors, particularly in the field of Waste and Recycling. Mr. Casella has been a member of numerous industry-related and community service-related state and local boards and commissions, including the Green Up Vermont, Vermont Chamber of Commerce, National Waste & Recycling Association’s Future Industry leader association, and Wheels for Warmth. Mr. Casella is also a recipient of the Waste360 – 40 under 40 award for his work in the industry. The Waste360 “40 under 40” awards program recognizes inspiring and innovative professionals under the age of 40 whose work in waste, recycling, and organics has made a significant contribution to the industry. Mr. Casella holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts & Science in Communication from West Virginia University.

Richard Deane

Richard Deane has been a Principal at TruexCullins since 2002 and leads the Higher Education and Workplace Studios of the Architecture and Interior Design firm of 25 people. His clients include the University of Vermont, St. Michaels, Dartmouth, Champlain and Burlington Colleges as well as Heritage Aviation and King Arthur Flour. Richard attended Syracuse University School of Architecture, studied in Italy, interned and practiced as an architect in Washington, DC and lived and worked in Frankfurt, Germany prior to returning to his hometown of Burlington in 1997. Richard grew up sailing on the lake, skiing at Stowe, bought his first ten-speed bicycle from the Ski Rack on Center Street, and now lives with his wife Ina and their two boys in his renovated boyhood home in Burlington.

Peter is an attorney at the Burlington-based law firm of Primmer Piper Eggleston & Cramer. The practice
focuses on regulatory compliance, commercial transactions, general corporate matters, and captive
insurance. Peter routinely advises banks and credit unions on contract and governance issues as well as
compliance and commercial lending matters. He also assists companies in the formation and ongoing
representation of all types of captive insurance companies and other alternative risk-financing vehicles.
Prior to joining Primmer, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Peter W. Hall of the United States
Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Peter also served as a law clerk to the Vermont Superior Court
before that.

John, a SBHS alumni, moved back to Vermont in 2011 after graduating from George Mason University with a degree in Integrative Studies, International Studies and Sustainability. Upon his return, he helped open Patagonia Burlington, one of the few locally owned partnership stores in the country. In 2017, John was accepted to the SBA Emerging Leaders Program and opened a new storefront in Waterbury Center, Vermont Trailwear. He joined the Ski Rack Inc. ownership group in 2018. John lives in Burlington with his wife Kate.

Al Gobeille and his wife Kim own and operate Gobeille Hospitality (comprised of the Shanty on the Shore and Burlington Bay Market and Café) on Burlington’s waterfront. Al Gobeille was most recently the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of The University of Vermont Health Network. Al previously served as Secretary of Human Services under Governor Phil Scott. In this role, he managed a workforce of over 3,600 state employees and transformed the agency’s $2.6 billion dollar budget to improve programs and reduce spending growth by over $100 million dollars annually. As Chair of the Green Mountain Care Board, Al played a leading role in negotiating Vermont’s first-of-its-kind All-Payer ACO Waiver with the federal government. Al and Kim have three adult children and live in Shelburne.

Rose Kenary is the General Manager of Manhattan’s Pizza & Pub, on the corner of Church & Main. She has lived or worked Downtown for the entirety of her 12 years in Burlington and has extensive experience in both FOH and management roles at some of the city’s most popular breweries and bars. Recently, Rose has become a leader in promoting industry safety by connecting fellow businesses with the WhatsApp group chat and other city and BBA resources. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Communications from the University of Vermont and lives in Downtown Burlington. 

Lisa Kingsbury

Associate Director of Planning, University of Vermont

Lisa Kingsbury is the Associate Director of Planning at the University of Vermont. In this role, Lisa oversees the overall land use planning and regulatory processes and space planning management for UVM as well as serving as UVM’s liaison with community and institutional groups and municipalities specific to land use. Prior to joining the staff at UVM, Lisa was the Director/Public Relations at Paul Kaza Associates in South Burlington and Director of Marketing for Forest City Development in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is currently serving as the Past Chair of the Lake Champlain Chamber Board of Directors and was on the Leadership Champlain Board for many years, also serving as Chair for two years. She is a member of the Burlington Business Association, where she previously served on the Programs and Promotions Committee, as well as the Vermont Planners Association and the Society for College and University Planning. She volunteered for three years as the Head Coach of the Girls on the Run program at Shelburne Community School. When not working, you can find Lisa in the stands cheering on her two daughters at their soccer games, spending time being active outdoors, or attempting DYI projects at her home in Shelburne.

A Burlington native and graduate of UVM, Leslee joined the company in 1993 and directed an expansion that placed the Agency within Coldwell Banker Company’s top 60 offices nationwide. Committed to the industry and the community, Leslee served as the 2010 president of the Vermont Association of Realtors and currently serves as a Vermont director to the National Association of Realtors.

Ryan Nick

After graduating from Boston College, Ryan has worked at J.L. Davis in an ever-expanding role that includes sales & leasing, marketing, property management, human resources, and tenant & community relations. Working with national, regional, and local clients, Ryan has a unique understanding of Vermont’s identity and sense of community. In addition, Ryan served as the project manager for the Stoney Hill Properties mixed-use development in Bristol, VT, where he led efforts to secure a $500,000 grant from the Northern Border Regional Commission.

Ryan grew up coming to Downtown Burlington and has made a commitment to living and working in the city. While serving on the BBA Board, he hopes to help grow and develop the economic vitality of Burlington. Also, as a member of the 2021-2022 Class of Leadership Champlain, Ryan looks forward to developing his leadership skills to better serve the State of Vermont.
Ryan lives in Downtown Burlington and can usually be found sailing the lake, or hiking, biking, and skiing in the mountains.

Jack Wallace

Jack Wallace has over 35 years of real estate development, construction, and management experience, which began shortly after he graduate from Middlebury College in 1982 with a BA in Geography. In his time since then, Mr. Wallace has been involved in the development and building of numerous residential, commercial, hospitality, medical, and government projects in Vermont, including the Marriott Courtyard – Burlington Harbor Hotel and Hotel Vermont. He has also assisted in the completion of group hotel projects in Wyoming, Idaho, and Portland, ME. Mr. Wallace opened the Burlington Harbor Marina in 2019 with Charles DesLauriers and currently provides asset management and oversight of the daily operations.
